Hello everyone! :-) How are you all? Hope you are well and healthy. Yes it has been a while and I have missed you all. Truly I have missed my nutrition world. The reason why I have been absent is because I have been busy with my other job at a lovely children's centre doing outreach work, which I am still currently doing. But today I worked as A H Nutritionist and did a healthy breakfast workshop to celebrate Shake Up Your Wake Up! and I loved it.

Happy Ramadhan 2015 - My Top 10 Energy Foods.
Happy Ramadhan everyone!! I hope you are all well and feeling healthy. Alhamdullillah we have reached that lovely spiritual time of the
year, the month of fasting, the month of cleansing our souls and body. Although
many people will be talking about how they will struggle to get through the day
and the hardship this month brings, please don’t forget to look at the
blessings and the benefits too. This is first and foremost a reminder for
myself as well as for you all.Monday, 23 March 2015
Balancing out on holiday - Dubai 2015
I was truly blessed and fortunate enough to go on holiday recently to sunny Dubai with my mum. We had a nice break (away from cold London) filled with shopping, food and fun!

WORKSHOP: Healthy Food Art
In my mission to promote healthy eating to the younger generation and help children build healthy habits from a young age, I got a great opportunity to deliver a healthy workshop and I decided to do it on healthy food art. It was a great success and so much fun. Monday, 20 October 2014

Healthy Ramadhan 2014: Keep Calm, Keep Cool & Stay Energised.
The buzz is in the air, the preparations have been made, it's very nearly almost here! Ramadhan, a month
where Muslims are prohibited from eating and drinking from the early hours of
the morning till sunset, to refresh our bodies and souls, but also to exercise
our self-control and our faith to God. With the long summer days that Ramadhan
now falls upon (here in the UK), there is a need for extra steps and special care to be taken in
order to take care of ourselves and help us get through the day. In this blog
post, I hope to provide special advice and guidance to help us keep our
energy levels at its optimum.Monday, 16 June 2014
Workplace Snacking

Hello!
Hope you are all well. I have always realised that healthy snacking in any
situation can be a problem, whether you are at home, with friends, family or even on
holiday. In every environment there are choices to be made that have an impact
on your health and well-being. However, having recently started a part-time
office-based job I have come to realise how easy it is to fall into this unhealthy trap. But don’t worry I am here, to help you and give you to tips on
how you can turn this around and learn to fight against the nibbles and treats
that just keep creeping back.

Anatolian Cultural Fete 2014
The Anatolian Cultural Fete is a
festival that has been running for 7 years now in Clissold Park. I hadn’t been
to the previous ones and have been wanting to go, so was happy to be free to go
this year. I went with my cousin even though the weather was not on our side,
obviously I went for the food but there was lot more going on. Read here to
find out more about the fete that just seems to be getting bigger and bigger.

Live Below The Line Challenge 2014
Live Below the Line is an amazing annual
challenge where many people live on £1 a day to raise awareness on poverty. Gandhi said – “Poverty is the worst form of violence.” Although, this week wasn’t
ideal for me to undertake the challenge due to prior engagements, I did it for
one day. And let me tell you it wasn’t easy.Tuesday, 29 April 2014

National Salt Week 2014: Stop…Look…Choose
We all know that salt is bad for
us, we see the health hazards everywhere. Salt is in a lot of the foods around
us that we have every day; bread, cereals, sauces, soups, processed foods. That’s
about 75-80% mostly hidden in our everyday foods. That is why we are having too
much of it, way too much, because we are surrounded by it. Saturday, 29 March 2014
Health Awareness Event: Talks, Demos and Food!
I was invited to host and deliver a talk at a Health Awareness Event organised by NFA Foundation, founded by a lovely sister I met only a few months ago, Nazia Ali. The event was held on Friday 28th March 2014 from 3-6pm. It was a short yet fun-filled event, gaining invaluable healthy tips from all the health professionals that attended.

Breakfast Week 2014: Healthy Start to a Healthy Day!
Breakfast week is one of the most
exciting weeks for me as a nutritionist. I’ve had fun sharing my breakfast’s
photos with you this week on my Facebook page (check them out if you haven't seen them already); I hope they’ve inspired you. I’ve
always enjoyed this meal, so much so that sometimes in the night I think about what I will have in the morning, especially if I am craving pancakes! Wednesday, 15 January 2014
Green Tea - Good or Bad?
The interest and consumption of
green tea has shot up in the last couple of years and many people are having it
every day now, and even replacing it with their normal mug of tea or coffee. I have
to have my nice warm mug of green tea in the morning to wake myself up;
otherwise I can’t function, it gives me my morning boost. It’s weird because
before I started having my morning green tea I didn’t used to have tea or
coffee in the morning, I didn’t feel the need to have it like other people do.
Now, I NEED my green tea, I’m kind of addicted, I even take my own tea bags
when I travel.

Another year has gone by and it's been a good one for A H Nutritionist. I created this blog, made a logo, revitalised my website and had more articles published in the SISTERS Magazine (a dream come true for me). And I'm praying 2014 will bring us much much more!

The 3 Cores of Healthy Eating

There are so many tips and advice on what to have and what not to have, that we often get confused by the many misunderstood messages flying around making us question every single thing we eat and drink. If you want to be healthy AND happy at the same time (which can be done), follow my 3 core guidelines below.

Healthy Ramadhan 2013
The blessed month
of fasting is upon the Muslims again and the summer days are just starting as we
get into this blessed month. Ramadhan is a month where Muslims fast (do not eat
or drink) from dusk til dawn. It is a month where Muslims learn to exercise
their self-control, refresh and reflect on their life; spiritually and
physically.
With the days getting longer and
the nights getting shorter it can be difficult to maintain our health and
strength. This is why it is even more important to make sure we eat and drink
healthily making sure we keep our body’s energy and fuel topped up with the
right foods and drinks.

EVENT: National Heart Month 2012 - Slash the Salt
It’s National Heart Month (February 2012) and
being one of the most important organs of our body we should always be looking
for ways to keep our heart healthy. One of the main risk factors of heart
disease is high blood pressure. One quarter of adults have high blood pressure,
which tends to lead to coronary heart disease, many of us do not know we have
it as it is known as the ‘silent killer’. So having regular check-ups is
advisable. Monday, 23 January 2012
You have to work hard for what you want...
In the past few weeks I have been
thinking about something and it keeps on coming back to me. It’s something that
I have learnt about and known about for a while but now I am actually getting
to realise and understand it, as I feel that I am discovering the importance of
it in my own life.

Choices and Changes
My birthday is coming up this month
and I’m thinking of my age and how old I’m getting. It’s a time in which I
reflect upon what I have achieved and what still needs to be done. This year I
am thinking about how much I have changed my diet and lifestyle. Making healthy
choices is becoming more important to me as I know that it will affect the
years ahead especially if I reach a very old age. Visiting my grandma recently,
has made me realise that I need to take extra care of my health and I want to
know that I did everything I could to live a happy healthy life.
