Hello everyone! :-) How are you all? Hope you are well and healthy. Yes it has been a while and I have missed you all. Truly I have missed my nutrition world. The reason why I have been absent is because I have been busy with my other job at a lovely children's centre doing outreach work, which I am still currently doing. But today I worked as A H Nutritionist and did a healthy breakfast workshop to celebrate Shake Up Your Wake Up! and I loved it.

Shake Up Your Wake Up! - Healthy Breakfast 2016
| My Haul! |
I went to my first ever Food Matters Live event. It's all about food, healthy and nutrition, run over 3 days with lots and lots of talks debating and discussing various hot topics we often hear about today. When I first read about it, I knew I had to be there! Here's a little overview of my day and what I got up to, the talks, what I learnt, the freebies and the event as a whole.

WORKSHOP: Healthy Food Art
In my mission to promote healthy eating to the younger generation and help children build healthy habits from a young age, I got a great opportunity to deliver a healthy workshop and I decided to do it on healthy food art. It was a great success and so much fun. Friday, 2 May 2014
Live Below The Line Challenge 2014
Live Below the Line is an amazing annual
challenge where many people live on £1 a day to raise awareness on poverty. Gandhi said – “Poverty is the worst form of violence.” Although, this week wasn’t
ideal for me to undertake the challenge due to prior engagements, I did it for
one day. And let me tell you it wasn’t easy.Tuesday, 8 April 2014
National Salt Week 2014: Stop…Look…Choose
We all know that salt is bad for
us, we see the health hazards everywhere. Salt is in a lot of the foods around
us that we have every day; bread, cereals, sauces, soups, processed foods. That’s
about 75-80% mostly hidden in our everyday foods. That is why we are having too
much of it, way too much, because we are surrounded by it. Saturday, 29 March 2014
Health Awareness Event: Talks, Demos and Food!
I was invited to host and deliver a talk at a Health Awareness Event organised by NFA Foundation, founded by a lovely sister I met only a few months ago, Nazia Ali. The event was held on Friday 28th March 2014 from 3-6pm. It was a short yet fun-filled event, gaining invaluable healthy tips from all the health professionals that attended.

Halal Food Festival 2013: Healthy Haloodie
As a nutritionist and as a foodie
I was very excited to attend the first ever Halal Food Festival, which took
place at Excel London from Friday 27th September 2013 – Sunday 29th
September 2013. I was very excited to see the different food and drinks they
had to offer under the ‘halal’ category. As a Muslim, dietary requirement is a
very important factor when planning, preparing and choosing meals.

EVENT: Organic & Natural Beauty Show 2013
I
got a request by email to attend the Organic & Natural Beauty Show. Being
into all things natural I decided to register for a free ticket and go. I went
just for a fun day out and to find out what natural products are out there for
us to use (and also for the freebies!). ;-)
We
use so many products, sometimes we forget how much chemicals we are exposed to.
We sometimes think nothing of it as it part of our everyday life, from moisturisers
to home cleaning products to hair products.
